bullet  General Notes:

Jim grew up in Chicago but after marriage lived in Western Springs and then Aurora, IL for many years.
After having signed up during high school, he entered the Navy Air Corps on the ground floor. His father cried because he was worried for him. The rules were that as long as you passed the schoolwork exams, you stayed stateside. Jim passed each one right up to near the end. He then failed an English test but he employed a Christian Science practitioner to help him. He retook the test and passed, keeping himself in the US. By the time he was qualified to fly, the war had ended. He flew a few planes after the war. He then went to Illinois Institute of Technology on the GI bill and also picked up credits at Duke University and received his degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Campbells Soup and Reynolds Aluminum before he opened a dry cleaners in Aurora. That business failed. He then sold cars and later became a Christian Science practitioner. He loved his family.

He, unconfirmed, once lived at 6416 S. Washtenaw Ave., Chicago.
